How our courses work

Learner policies

These policies apply across every continuing education program. Each course syllabus remains the authoritative document for that course.

Communication and response times

Message the instructor through the course platform. Messages are monitored on business days, Monday to Friday, and answered within two business days. Courses do not provide consultation on a learner’s own cases or workplace situations, and a live situation requires local action rather than a course message.

Format and delivery

Every program is fully online and asynchronous. You work at your own pace within the access period. Nothing requires a live session, a peer partner or a webcam, and no discussion boards or group work are required. Every interactive element has an equivalent individual written route.

The CBT sequence is also offered as a live synchronous cohort using the same outcomes, content and assessments.

Access period and extensions

Access begins on the date of registration and continues for twelve months. If you need longer, request an extension before access ends. Incomplete courses do not generate a certificate, and partial CE hours are not issued.

Registration, refunds, equity pricing and payment plans

Registration is completed through this website. A full refund is available before any module content has been accessed. Once content has been accessed, refunds are considered case by case.

Equity discount. A 30% equity discount is available to learners living with a disability or from a historically marginalized group who currently earn under USD $80,000 per year. Eligibility is by self-attestation; no documentation is required.

Payment plans. Payment plans are available for program bundles, spread over up to ten months.

Materials

No textbook purchase is required. All required and assessed instruction is presented within the course, and handouts, worksheets and practice templates are included at no additional cost. Optional readings are cited where they are used and are not assessed.

Completion and certificates

Courses use completion criteria rather than letter grades. To earn a certificate of completion you must:

  • review all required lessons and media;
  • complete every required activity;
  • meet the assessment threshold stated in the course syllabus;
  • submit the required final reflection or reflective applications;
  • complete the course evaluation; and
  • finish within the access period.

Certificates are issued once completion is verified and record the course title, CE hours and completion date. Keep a copy, and confirm acceptance with your own regulatory body.

Technical requirements

  • Device: a current desktop, laptop or tablet. A phone may not display every activity reliably.
  • Internet: a stable broadband connection suitable for streaming captioned media.
  • Browser: a current version of Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari, with cookies and JavaScript enabled.
  • Software: a PDF reader.
  • Audio: speakers or headphones. A microphone and webcam are not required.

You should be able to navigate a website, play captioned media, download and upload files, and submit written responses.

Accessibility and accommodations

All instructional media are captioned, and a text transcript accompanies every recorded lecture. Slides and handouts are supplied in accessible formats with semantic headings, alternative text and sufficient colour contrast, and course pages support keyboard access and common assistive technologies.

You may request an accommodation, alternative format or additional time at any point before or during a course, without documentation. Contact the provider as early as you can, describing the barrier and the adjustment that would help.

Academic integrity and AI

Submitted work must represent your own engagement with the course. Acknowledge sources where original written work is required. Do not impersonate another participant, share assessment answers, falsify completion, or use unauthorized assistance. Generative AI tools may be used to check grammar or organize notes; a submission substantially produced by an AI tool does not demonstrate the applied reasoning the assessments require and will not meet the completion criteria.

Privacy, confidentiality and case material

The provider collects only the information needed to administer courses, document completion, evaluate quality and communicate with learners. All cases used in teaching and assessment are fictional or composite. Never submit identifiable client, patient, student, employee or organizational information. Where an activity asks about your own practice, describe your reasoning rather than the client.

Complaints and concerns

You may raise a concern about content, delivery, accessibility, administration, instructor conduct, assessment or continuing education credit, without retaliation, by emailing the provider. Concerns are acknowledged and answered in writing. Once CE approval is confirmed, the approving body will be listed here for escalation of unresolved concerns.

Professional conduct

These courses address identity, oppression and clinical material that learners may have personal experience of. You are never required to disclose personal or family history. Use the platform and support channels respectfully, without harassment, discrimination, threats or targeted abuse.

The provider does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, immigration status or socioeconomic status.

Professional scope

These courses are continuing professional education. They do not on their own establish competence, confer a credential, licence or certification to practise any intervention, or constitute clinical supervision or consultation on a specific case. You remain responsible for practising within your own scope, jurisdiction and regulatory requirements.

Course materials are licensed to the enrolled learner for personal professional use and may not be recorded, redistributed, taught from or reproduced without written permission, except as permitted by law or an approved accommodation.

Content is reviewed periodically and updated where evidence, guidelines or regulations change. Learners with active access receive updates, and changes that affect completion requirements, access or credit are communicated to enrolled learners.

Instructor and disclosures

All courses are written and taught by Rahim Thawer, MSW, RSW, CCS, a registered social worker and psychotherapist. The author receives revenue from enrolment. No other relevant financial relationships are disclosed.
